Prague Astronomical Clock

Prague's Astronomical Clock is a 600-year-old marvel of medieval engineering. The Gothic clock tower is festooned with symbolism, and statues representing virtue and vice in human form. Every hour on the hour, the statues spring to life in a dramatic spectacle of religious and cultural significance, while a real-life trumpeter in full medieval regalia heralds the passing of another hour with a trumpet blast. Recent renovations on the clock tower have revealed hidden treasures left behind by sculptors, dating back as far as the 15th century!

IMAGE Black light Theatre

The theater IMAGE was created in 1989 by Alexander Čihař and Eva Asterová. They decided to quit their former theater and found their own theater company with their own concept: an independent, private theatre based on the synthesis of black theatre, dance, modern jazz, contemporary music and pantomime and also cultivated entertainment, enjoyment of good music and beautiful dance and –why not– a good dose of liberating laughter. The premiere of the very first performance took place in 1990 “Jazzmime Stories”. IMAGE entered the world of theatre as a new, unknown company gaining its name in a small hall of the Lávka club on the bank of the Vltava River, near Charles Bridge. The company has reached a synthesis, which concentrates on clever and quality entertainment. The ensemble has developed its own style. It is a combination of modern dance elements, interesting costumes, mime and non-verbal theatre, and contact with the public. They are now well known in Prague and abroad.
